Callidus Design has been appointed by NHS Shetland to design the works associated with the replacement of the Steam distribution pipework at the Gilbert Bain Hospital, Lerwick. The existing pipework has reached the end of its useful lifespan and is routed through inaccessible locations. The works include the re-routing of the pipework outside of the building where it is more accessible and maintainable. The work requires to be carried out with the minimum of shutdown time and hence disruption to the hospital operation.
